As you may have discovered, our
inventory is small and specialized. For that reason, we are
suggesting some sites of independent bookseller friends for you to search.
Assume
that a bookseller only has a portion of available inventory listed
online and ask about items that might be a good fit for that seller. We're always glad to hear
from you although some of us spend more time at the computer than
others.
- The Independent Online Booksellers Association (IOBA) is dedicated to
maintaining and enforcing high ethical and professional standards for
our member booksellers, including a Code Of Ethics and promoting trust
between customers and booksellers by providing a safe online
environment for the purchase and sale of books. This is an
easy way to search the inventory of many independent booksellers in one
place.
- Tarmans
Books have been independent
booksellers, specializing in out-of-print and collectible books, since
1989. You will find the Tarmans dedicated to suburb
customer service. In addition to shopping Tarmans Books,
you will find a different - but equally interesting - inventory at Tarmans eBay store.
- Bookfever.com specializes
in first editions of twentieth century literature, with an
emphasis on women authors, African American literature and history (or
Black studies), Native American authors, Latin American (including
Chicano/a and Latino/a authors and works in translation) and Hawaiian
and South Pacific islands - plus mystery, detective & suspense
fiction, science fiction, fantasy & horror, poetry &

the most valuable tool you can add to your workbench, the

- Our bookseller friends, HGBooks,
offer various bookbinding & repair services. Simple repairs such as
hinge tightening, new end papers, corner and spine repair or recasing
can return a book to your collection for years of future use at a

- Every so often you discover a Very Important Book. Look Me in the Eye is about growing up with
Asperger’s syndrome — a high functioning form of autism — overcoming limitations, and ultimately becoming a successful adult. The synopsis at Random House will fill you in far better than I can here. Spend the time to get to know John, Unit Two, Varmint (his brother Augusten Burroughs) and John's adventures with Pink Floyd and KISS; it will be time well spent.
- Stop, You're Killing me! is a resource for lovers of mystery, crime, thriller, spy, and suspense books.
